Eight Auburn School District teachers recently earned their National Board Certification.

National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. As part of this rigorous process, teachers must analyze their teaching content and students’ needs, submit videos of their teaching and provide student work samples that demonstrate growth and achievement.

The ASD now has 60 Nationally Board Certified teachers. The number fluctuates each school year due to retirements and staff entering and leaving the district.

The new National Board Certified staff are:

Jason Capps, Auburn High School

Elaine Hogg, Auburn High School

Jila Jacobsen, Chinook Elementary

Judith Jones, Dick Scobee Elementary

Eric Mohler, Auburn High School

Kevin Olson, Cascade Middle School

Amy Sleeth, Cascade Middle School

Shelley Warner, Olympic Middle School
