Shaun Michael Meehan, son of Kevin and Marsha Meehan, from Auburn, and a graduate of Auburn Riverside High School, graduated on June 16 from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

The class of 2018 was also honored to have the Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, (above left) speak at its graduation.

Meehan graduated as a Marine systems engineer, and was nominated to the academy by Congressman Dave Reichert, R-Auburn.
