Roger Thordarson, a longtime Auburn civic leader, was reappointed by the King County Council to serve as a representative on the Transit Advisory Committee.

It is Thordarson’s second term on the committee.

“Roger’s reappointment is a natural fit for the Transit Advisory Committee,” said Pete von Reichbauer, King County Councilmember. “He is active in the community and has a strong passion for South King County and helping to resolve transit issues in King County.”

The King County Transit Advisory Committee helps Metro improve transit services and programs by advising the Metro Trnasit staff, Metro Transit general manager, King County Executive, Metropolitan King County Council, local jurisdictions, and subarea transportation forums on transit issues and policies.

Thordarson is retired, but remains active in South King County community. He has a longstanding interest in transit issues; he is a past member of the Regional Transit Committee and past Director of School Transportation.

Thordarson will serve a two-year term, expiring on Sept. 30, 2011.
