‘Biggest Loser’ stars featured at Northwest Health and Fitness Expo

Matt and Suzy Hoover from NBC’s “Biggest Loser” will appear at the Northwest Health and Fitness Expo at the Showplex at the Western Washington Fairgrounds.

Appearing Jan. 8-9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the two weight-loss success stories will present “Making Healthy Life Choices,” sign autographs and have their photos taken with fans.

“Matt and Suzy will share their advice on how they lost more than 100 pounds, how they keep it (the weight) off and what it was like to be on the Biggest Loser,” said Gina Lanza, event promoter for the expo. “Patrons can get massages (at the expo), learn training tips, get their blood pressure checked, get free samples and gain invaluable information to lead a healthy lifestyle.

“Costco will have a hearing specialist, a pharmacy specialist and an optical specialist at the show. It is a great way achieve your health and fitness goals for the new year.”

In its first year, event features and promotes consumer-related health and fitness products and is a partner of the Northwest Home and Garden Show. The ticket price includes admission to both shows and the first 100 patrons get in free. Both shows run Jan. 7-9 at the Showplex.

Dates and information

The Northwest Health and Fitness Expo runs Jan. 7-9 at the Showplex at the Western Washington Fairgrounds, 110 Ninth Ave. SW, in Puyallup (directions, www.thefair.com). Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. Parking is free at designated Western Washington Fairground parking lots.

General admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 and over and military personnel with ID and free for children 17 and younger. Two dollar discount coupons off the general price of admission are available at www.nwhealthandfitnessexpo.net. The ticket prices includes admission to both the Northwest Health and Fitness Expo and the Puyallup Home Show.
