Convenience store employee robbed a gunpoint | Auburn police blotter

Between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5, the Auburn Police Department responded to the following calls for service, among many others:

Jan. 2

DUI alcohol or drugs: 10:38 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police busted a man for driving under the obvious influence of a substance unknown after people saw him nearly hitting parked vehicles and falling asleep behind the wheel. Toxicology results are pending.

Misdemeanor vandalism: 7:41 p.m., 6800 block of Udall Place Southeast. An unspecified act of vandalism went down at the the Four Lakes Apartments.

Burglary: 11:59 p.m., 30400 block of 132nd Avenue Southeast. Burglars hit seven storage units.

Jan. 4

Theft: Overnight, 37th Street NW. Somebody or somebodies in cahoots stole an undisclosed number of neon signs valued at an undisclosed amount from a parking lot in the small hours of the morning.

Theft of vehicle parts: 5:40 a.m., 400 block of 17th St. SE. Somebody thieved a catalytic converter from a vehicle.

Misdemeanor harassment: 9:50 p.m., 100 block of 10th Street Northeast. A dispute flared up in Auburn.

Jan. 5

Robbery: 4:37 a.m., 2202 Auburn Way N. Police were responding to a holdup alarm at a 7-Eleven when the on-duty employee contacted an officer to say he’d just been robbed at rifle-point. The employee told officers the suspect had demanded money from him — a few hundred dollars — and then snatched about $100 from a customer. As soon as the bad guy had the loot, he scrammed. The APD has no suspects at this time, but store video captured the scene. No one was hurt.

Impounded: 6:37 a.m., 100 10th St. NE. Police impounded a vehicle that had been found empty, blocking the roadway and missing its right front wheel.

Controlled substance: 11 a.m., 131 E. Main St. Police busted a man for drug loitering.

Theft: 7:30 a.m., 3702 Auburn Way S. Unknown subjects stole known mail from the Clearwater Ridge Apartments mailbox.

Jan. 6

Theft: 7:18 a.m., 1100 block of E. Main Street. Someone stole a vehicle with guns in the trunk.

Rape: 12 a.m, Forest Ridge Drive Southeast. Police investigated an allegation of sexual assault.

Trespassing: 7:28 p.m., 1038 Outlet Collection Way SW. Police busted three guys for multiple, unspecified, misdemeanor crimes.
