Authority responded to 210 calls for service between
Sept. 15 and Sept. 21, among them the following:
SEPT. 15
Car vs. pedestrian: 2:29 p.m., (Auburn). VRFA units responded to a car versus pedestrian accident in the 4200 block of Auburn Way North and found a male person, age not given, who had sustained a leg injury after a slow moving vehicle backed into him. Personnel examined this male person, treated his injuries and an ambulance transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
SEPT 16
Car vs. bicycle: 10:25 a.m., (Pacific). Engine 38 and Aid 32 responded to the 600 block of Ellingson Road SE for a reported collision between a car and a bicyclist, gender not given. Personnel evaluated the cyclist then treated and stabilized this person before an ambulance carted him or her off to ARMC.
SEPT 17
Gunshot victim: (Auburn) On September 17th at 11:03 p.m., VRFA units responded to a possible gun shot victim and found a young man who had sustained a gun shot wound to the back near Ellingson Road. Personnel treated the young man at the scene and an ambulance transported him to Harborview.
SEPT 18
Ill male: 3:59 p.m., (Auburn). Engine 32 responded to a report of a man having a seizure somewhere in Auburn. On arrival, crews found an extremely feisty person who had sustained a head injury from a fall. Owing to concern over the patient’s injuries, personnel stabilized him on a backboard and an ambulance transported him to ARMC.
SEPT 19
Aid call: 3:22 p.m., (Lea Hill). Engine 34 responded to a reported choking, whereupon personnel found a boy who had choked on a sandwich. The patient’s mother performed the Heimlich maneuver and the troublesome bit of sandwich popped right out. Personnel examined the kid and with his vitals in normal limits left him at home with his mother.
SEPT 21
Car versus Pedestrian: 3:42 p.m., (Auburn). VRFA units responded to a reported car versus pedestrian accident in the 600 block of M Street Southeast. What they found was a young child who had been struck by a slow moving vehicle. Lucky for this kid, all he needed was a Band-Aid and his mother.
