Homeowner illegally burns trash | Fire blotter

From the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 23, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the following calls for service.

Feb. 17

Aid call: 10:45 a.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a woman who was complaining of severe side pain and then transported her to Valley Medical Center for further care.

Feb. 18

Aid call: 2:51 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped an elderly woman to clear an obstruction in her throat, eliminating the choking hazard. The woman declined transport to a local hospital.

Feb. 19

Illegal burn: 1:12 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to reports of a homeowner who was burning trash, rubbish and construction materials in a small backyard fire, and as a result, was creating lingering, stinky smoke. Firefighters schooled the erring homeowner on the ideas of allowable burning practices, extinguished the fire and overhauled the scene without problems.

Feb. 20

Aid call: 8:15 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a woman who was seizing, stabilized her, and then transported her to a local hospital for further care.

Feb. 21

Accident: 8:30 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters arrived at the scene of a semi-truck that was blocking northbound lanes with a passenger vehicle trapped under it. All occupants were out of their vehicles and declined aid. Fire units remained on the scene for safety while Auburn police investigated, and tow services removed the car.

Feb. 22

Aid call: 12 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medic One treated the multiple injuries a man suffered when he fell off his motorcycle and a group of fellow riders ran him over. Medics then transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for further care.

Feb. 23

Accident: 10:39 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a single-vehicle rollover accident treated one person for minor injuries before transporting that person to MultiCare Covington Medical Center.
