McGraw, stage crew bounce disorderly fan from Amphitheater

Auburn hit the national stage, thanks to an unruly Tim McGraw fan.

McGraw helped members of his stage crew eject the rowdy fan from his Tuesday night concert at Auburn’s White River Amphitheater. The country music star saw the man assault a woman who sat in the front-row seats.

A video of the incident surfaced Wednesday at several Internet sites, including YouTube.

McGraw was performing his 1994 hit, “Indian Outlaw,” when he stopped singing and yelled, “Get rid of this guy! Security!” At that point, McGraw knelt down and began pulling the man onstage. Members of his stage crew showed up immediately to assist McGraw.

The band played throughout the encounter. Ironically, when McGraw returned to singing the song, he resumed with the line that began, “I’m not lookin’ for trouble.”

The disorderly fan was turned over to authorities. However, King County Sheriff’s Department spokesman John Urquhart said no arrest had been made because there was “ no crime, at least no reportable crime,” he said.

“They detained him, they identified him, they kicked him out,” Urquhart said.
