Valley Regional Fire Authority personnel doused an Auburn house fire on Tuesday morning after a neighbor spotted heavy smoke coming from the roof.

The lone resident was at work and not in the home, the VRFA reported.

Firefighters got the call at 10:11 a.m. Prior to fire crews arriving, the Auburn Police Department forced entry to the home and encountered smoke. VRFA crews quickly went to work to extinguish the fire.

There were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
