New sculptures installed downtown; People’s Choice winner announced

Auburn’s recently-installed Downtown Sculpture Gallery showcases 10 unique sculptures from artist throughout the region.
The sculptures were selected through a competitive application process, and the artwork is on temporary one-year loan to the City .
The sculptures display a diversity of styles and techniques, including the rusting steel of Corinthian Nest by California artist David Reid-Marr; the mixed medium metal sculptures Walking Warrior by Sharon Agnor; Merkaba by Joe Burleigh; Anima Eterna by Francisco Salgado; Silent Watcher by Lloyd Whannell; and The Sea Within by Lin McJunkin.
Peter Hazel’s The Hatch, Pat McVay’s Salmon Romance, Steve Tyree’s Hawk and Ken Hall’s Naissance also grace the gallery.
People’s Choice
Greg Bartol and Deborah Drllevich’s Silverware Ostrich earned the People’s Choice award.
The artwork will be purchased and permanently sited in downtown Auburn, adding to the City’s public art collection.
A new People’s Choice will be determined for a new slate of sculptures.
Voting opportunities can be found online or in City Hall Tourism Office.
To add to the artwork experience, the mobile application StQry (StQry.com) can be downloaded on any smart phone. This application provides a description, artist information and additional pictures of both the temporary artworks and the public artwork collection throughout the City. This mobile application is downloadable via the QR code on each of the artwork plaques to allow for individuals to access more information if they desire.
