The Valley Regional Fire Authority put out a double-wide modular structure fire early Saturday morning. The lone occupant escaped safely before fire units arrived.
The VRFA was dispatched to the 300 block of 3rd Place South in Algona for a structure fire at 4:20 a.m. Firefighters found smoke and flames showing from a double-wide modular structure. The fire was quickly knocked down and extinguished, the structure was ventilated and a search was completed.
There were no injuries to citizens or firefighters.
The displaced occupant is being assisted by the Red Cross.
Fire investigators are determining the fire’s cause and origin.
