Police blotter | April 10

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between April 1 and April 7:

April 1

Good morning, you’re busted: 7:19 a.m., 625 M St. NE. A man with

a felony warrant woke up after a pleasant snooze in a church parking lot to learn he was under arrest and bound for jail.

Burglary: Overnight, 1800 block of L Street Southeast. A woman told police that her soon-to-be ex-husband, a transient with a felony warrant, broke into her shed and stole some undisclosed tools. Police could not find the man.

Hungry shoplifter: 1:37 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for trying to steal $27.87 worth of milk, chips, hotdog buns and chili from Safeway.

Assault: 6:36 p.m., 1300 block of 8th Street Northeast. Police arrested a man and a woman for beating up on each other.

April 2

Vandalism: 7:10 p.m., 501 Oravetz Road. Somebody spray painted a wall and a power box on a pump house, resulting in undisclosed monetary damages.

Theft: 2:46 p.m., 1425 Supermall Way SW. A man stole a laptop and miscellaneous hardware and software worth an undisclosed amount from another in a long line of stores police would rather not identify.

Assault: 6 p.m., 5900 block of Elizabeth Avenue Southeast. Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for assaulting his mother and punching holes in the walls.

Burglary: 6 p.m., 10000 block of Southeast 284th Street. A woman reported that while she was at work somebody burglarized her home and stole a 52-inch Sony LCD TV and some jewelry.

April 3

Assault with injuries: 3:30 a.m., 10800 block of Southeast 319th Street. On this date, at this location in the dead of night some sort of assault occurred involving, it appears, an assailant, or several assailants. Somebody was hurt. How bad? Police didn’t say.

April 4

Burglary: Overnight, 2800 block of 67th Court Southeast. Somebody forced open the side garage door of a home still under construction and stole numerous power tools used to build the home.

Burglary: 7:08 p.m., 3000 block of Scenic Drive Southeast. A burglar entered a garage through a dog door and swiped a chainsaw. Police did not disclose a value.

Assault: 9:59 p.m., 500 block of M Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for scratching and punching his pregnant girlfriend in the face, an assault linked to accusations of theft leveled by both parties.

Bounced: 12:17 a.m., 440 16th St. NE. Police arrested a man for assaulting a bouncer at BB McGraws.

April 6

Disorderly conduct: 12:56 p.m., 1100 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a person for making unnecessary calls to 911 causing officers to respond needlessly, taking them out of service for a time and costing the city money.
