Police need community help to identify robbery suspect

Auburn police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a man who recently robbed an Auburn pharmacy.

According to reports, an African-American male entered Peckenpaugh Drug, located at 1123 E. Main St., at 1:40 p.m. on Aug. 28, demanding oxycontin from the pharmacist. The suspect, who is described by witnesses as being 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, implied that he had a weapon. The pharmacist provided the suspect with the prescription painkiller and the man fled.

Witnesses saw the suspect enter a red Buick Electra and was able to obtain the license plate number of Washington 998VTT. The Buick was being driven by an adult white male.

Citizens are encouraged to call the Auburn Police Department’s tip line at 253-288-7403 or 911 if they have any information on the identity of the suspect or the location of the Buick or suspect. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
