Pulling for Cullen in his fight

Just wish to say a short comment on your story, “Show of Steele: Boy fights back from surgery,” in your Nov. 7 issue. I think it’s a profoundly, well-written, happy story, and I was touched by it.

I know Cullen. He was an altar server for many years at the Holy Family Catholic Church of Auburn. I used to be a lector in that church for many years also, and when reciting the prayer intentions for that Sunday Mass when I am scheduled to lector, I would mention his name among those parishioners who need prayers. I did this for many, countless Sundays.

Six years of suffering was a long battle indeed for Cullen. But those prayers worked. I believe it was a miracle, and I am happy for him, for his family, especially for his mom, Colleen. Thank you.
