Single-prop plane flips at Auburn Municipal Airport; pilot is OK

A small, single-prop plane flipped onto its top while taxiing down the runway at Auburn Municipal Airport on Tuesday evening, the Valley Regional Fire Authority reported,

Only the pilot was on board, and he was not injured, the VRFA said.

The plane, a Fairchild 24, sustained extensive damage.

The airport was temporarily closed while the plane was removed and a small fuel spill was cleaned up.

VRFA responded to the call around 6:37 p.m.
