Firefighters treated the man for smoke inhalation and transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

A woman and two children who live in the residence were not home at the time of the fire, which was reported at 2:15 p.m.

A neighbor heard a smoke alarm and noticed smoke pouring from a nearby, single-wide mobile home at 401 37th St. SE.

Firefighters responded, entered the residence and immediately found a man in his 20s unconscious in the living room. They removed the man and began searching for others. Fortunately, no one else was home.

The residence suffered some smoke damage, but the family will be able to return home, the VRFA said. The smoke was caused by unattended cooking.
