South King County officials appointed to Solid Waste Advisory Committee

The King County Council recently confirmed the appointments of Algona Mayor Dave Hill and Pacific Council member David Storaasli to the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

King County Council member Pete von Reichbauer recommended the appointments.

Hill, a member of the Puget Sound Regional Council, was instrumental in working to secure the Interlocal Agreement between King County and the City of Algona regarding the Algona Transfer Station. Storaasli, a member of Teamsters Local Union 117, has spent 20 years as a recycle driver for Waste Management.

The Solid Waste Advisory Committee provides feedback to the King County executive and council on proposed council actions involving solid waste issues. They also help the county in the development of solid waste programs and policies, and comment on proposed solid waste management policies, ordinances and plans prior to their adoption.
