Spreading some holiday cheer

JCPenney teams up with Seahawks to bring joy, gift cards to deserving Auburn Valley Y kids

JCPenney and the Seattle Seahawks spread some holiday cheer by helping area YMCA kids with its Giving Spree event Tuesday at the Southcenter Mall.

Seahawks wide receiver David Moore and the Seahawk cheerleaders surprised 25 deserving kids from Auburn Valley Y with a special visit and shopping spree at the JCPenney store in Tukwila.

Each child received a $100 JCPenney gift card to purchase the gifts for everyone on their lists. Moore and the cheerleaders helped the kids shop for presents for friends and family, take pictures and create a holiday memory.

Kicking off its fifth year of hosting Giving Spree events, JCPenney is expanding the program and will host a Giving Spree event in each continental state, and Puerto Rico, benefitting a total of 1,275 deserving participants.
