A man was arrested in Auburn on Friday, May 30 for investigation of a felony hit-and-run collision from two years ago.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives arrested and booked a 63-year-old Auburn man, after two years of investigative work, according to a May 30 press release from the department. The Auburn Reporter is not naming the man because he has not been formally charged.
The original crash occurred June 24, 2023 on eastbound State Route 18 to C Street in Auburn. When WSP officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 4:30 p.m., they saw a 43-year-old female motorcycle rider with a severe leg injury on the ground. The trooper provided aid before the fire department arrived and airlifted the victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
WSP said further investigation revealed the motorcycle was taking the exit to C Street when it encountered a vehicle, described only as a beige sedan, driving in the wrong lane up the ramp causing the motorcycle to go down.
