Absher Construction crew members assemble the roof atop the new Olympic Middle School on a sun-splashed Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching into the welcomed 50s.

The new 105,000-square-foot school, at 1825 K St. SE, will replace today’s 92,000-square-foot edifice with a two-story, red brick-faced structure wired for 21st-century technology.

The school opens in September.
