Top Food & Drug collecting coats for needy kids

Top Food & Drug stores in Western Washington are collecting donations for the 13th annual Warm Coats for Kids campaign, which starts Monday.

The campaign seeks new or gently worn coats, hats, scarves and mittens. Donations at Top Food stores will be distributed to women’s and children’s centers in Puget Sound by Northwest Center (http://nwcenter.org/).

“The Warm Coats drive helps children stay warm and healthy when they go to school and play outside,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for Top Food & Drug.

Customers of Top Food & Drug have donated between 5,000 and 6,000 coats annually to the drive in recent years.
