Truck rolls over, ejects both occupants | Fire blotter

Between Jan. 25 and Jan. 31, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 244 calls for service, among them the following:

Jan. 25

Motorcycle vs. truck: 7 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a man who had crashed his motorcycle into a truck and was complaining of leg pain. The man declined transport by ambulance, so firefighters helped him into his girlfriend’s car for a ride to a local hospital.

Jan. 26

Aid: 5:28 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a guy who was requesting aid outside a local grocer for his sore, aching feet. When the guy saw the last Metro bus bound for Seattle about to depart, however, he jumped up and ran for the bus. E-338 wished him well and returned to service.

Jan. 27

Vehicle fire: 1:10 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters extinguished a 10-foot box truck that was aflame at the Algona Transfer Station, and stayed there to help the towing company. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Jan. 28

Accident: 3:01 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a rollover vehicle accident, found a truck that had rolled and ejected both occupants, one of whom was lying in the road, and the other who had run off. Firefighters and King County Medic One Paramedics evaluated the man, and paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. Police found the other guy later, and he was treated and released at the scene.

Aid call: 9:30 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a mid-20s woman who had overdosed woke her, and paramedics administered Narcan before hustling her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for further evaluation.

Jan. 29

Gas leak: 7:23 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responding to a report of a gas leak at a single-family home investigated and found the leak outside, next to the gas meter. Firefighters shut off the gas and aired the home before Puget Sound Energy arrived to start repairs.

Jan. 30

Aid call: 2:38 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined a man who was complaining of abdominal pain after recent appendectomy surgery, and a private ambulance motored him to Mary Bridge Hospital in Tacoma.

Jan. 31

Aid call: 12:49 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medic One evaluated a middle-aged man who was having a seizure, and Medic 6 hurried him to MAMC.
