Two weekends of full SR 18 closures near Tiger Mountain, Auburn

Drivers who use State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain State Forest and Auburn should plan ahead for full directional closures and major detours this weekend, Oct. 3-4, and the weekend of Oct. 17-18.

Drivers who use State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain State Forest and Auburn should plan ahead for full directional closures and major detours this weekend, Oct. 3-4, and the weekend of Oct. 17-18.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close all eastbound or westbound lanes of SR 18 for several hours Saturday and Sunday mornings on both weekends for paving, guardrail and tree removal work. All work is weather dependent.

Closure details:

• Saturday, Oct. 3 – Westbound SR 18 from Interstate 90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 3 – Westbound SR 18 from Southeast 304th Place to Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m. The right lane will remain closed until 4 p.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 4 – Eastbound SR 18 from Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast to I-90 will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 17 – Westbound SR 18 from I-90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 17 – Westbound SR 18 from Southeast 304th Place to Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m. for tree removal work. The right lane will remain closed until 4 p.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 18 – Eastbound SR 18 from Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast to I-90 will be closed from 4 to 10 a.m.

A signed detour will be in place during all closures. For westbound closures, drivers on Snoqualmie Parkway and I-90 who wish to go westbound on SR 18 will be detoured onto westbound I-90 near Snoqualmie. All traffic on westbound SR 18 in Covington will be detoured onto State Route 516.

For eastbound closures, vehicles less than 30,000 pounds will be detoured onto Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast, Newport Way Northwest, Northwest Maple Street, State Route 900 then I-90. Large vehicles must use State Route 167, Interstate 405 and I-90.
