Vehicle goes over embankment, down steep ravine; VRFA rescues occupant

A vehicle apparently ran off Mountain View Drive on Friday morning, closing the road to allow emergency units to rescue the occupant.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority was dispatched to a report of a vehicle over an embankment down into a steep ravine at 8:41 a.m. Arriving VRFA units found the vehicle not visible from the roadway. On-scene personnel secured an anchor point to rappel Rope Rescue personnel down to assess the situation. The vehicle was secured and it was determined to be occupied.

Rope Rescue personnel from the VRFA extricated one occupant, who was moved to a treatment area. That person’s condition is unknown at this time.

Auburn police are investigating the scene. The road remained closed throughout the early morning.
