The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 244 calls for service between Nov. 26 and Dec. 2, among them the following:

Nov. 26

Kitchen fire: 11:08 a.m., (south Auburn). When firefighters responding to a report of a house fire in the 1300 block of 37th Street Southeast found smoke, they got in and found remnants of a kitchen fire, which the owners had already extinguished. The damage was quite extensive. The VRFA Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and working up damage estimates.

Nov. 27

Aid call: 8:32 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a man in cardiac arrest arrived to find that somebody had already performed CPR and defibrillation before they got there. King County Medics transported the man, with a pulse, to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Nov. 28

Aid call: 9:49 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters treated a man with stroke-like symptoms, and a private ambulance transported him to Valley Medical Center.

Nov. 29

Aid call: 7:03 a.m., (Auburn). A woman who’d been crossing a street when a car hit her was complaining of head pain, so firefighters treated and transported her to MAMC.

Nov. 30

Aid call: 9:21 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a young man who’d sustained injuries in a fight, and left him at the the scene with his school adviser.

Dec. 1

Aid call: 2:03 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters examined a woman who was struggling to catch her breath, and a private vehicle transported her to MAMC.

Dec. 2

Aid call: 7:15 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a senior citizen who was complaining of chest pain, and when they found he was not suffering a cardiac event, a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for further examination.
