The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 185 requests for services between June 18 and June 24, among them the following:

June 18

Aid call: 7:46 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a little girl who had fallen and hit her head and her mother transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) for further evaluation.

June 19

Aid call: 9:36 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a woman in the throes of severe back pain and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis for more care.

June 20

Power lines down: 1:20 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responding to reports of wires down found a sheared-off power pole and lines lying across the roadway and across several vehicles. Firefighters blocked off the roadway and kept civilians away from the power lines until Puget Sound Energy could cut the juice to the lines.

June 21

Aid call: 2:11 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters showed up at an adult family home to help an older woman in distress and a private ambulance transported her to Valley Medical Center at the request of the care providers.

June 22

Accident: 11:06 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics responding to a high-speed motor vehicle accident at the 11600 block of Southeast 304th Street found one man trapped in his vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Firefighters used hydraulic power tools to get the man out as fast as they could and treated him at the scene. Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.

June 23

Accident: 2:24 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters pulled a female with minor injuries from a vehicle that had been involved in a collision on State Route 167, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Joe’s hospital in Tacoma.

June 24

Aid call: 8:06 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a boy with a bump on his forehead and left him in his mother’s care.
