The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 241 calls for service between Aug. 21 and 27, among them the following:

Aug. 21

Automatic fire alarm: 7:11 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters were dispatched to the sound of a neighbors fire alarm going off. Personnel arrived and found the apartment filled with smoke and a pan on the kitchen stove burning. Firefighters forced entry into the home and performed a quick search of the unit and found nobody home. The stove was turned off and the apartment was aired out with little damage to the kitchen area. The homeowners were notified by phone and stated they were on their way home.

Aug. 22

Aid call: 1 p.m. (Algona). Firefighters responded to an infant girl who was sprayed in the face with Formula 409 cleaner. The patient was treated on scene and poison control was called. Patient was left at scene with mother and after-care instructions.

Aug. 23

Aid call: 6:03 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an elderly woman who had fallen and hit her head. The patient required further evaluation. Family members declined transport by ambulance and stated they would transport patient by private vehicle to Valley Medical Center (VMC).

Aug. 24

Aid call: 6:47 p.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters assisted an elderly woman complaining of injuries to her face after a fall. The patient was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) by private ambulance.

Aug. 25

Aid call: 11:42 a.m. (south Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a boy suffering from seizure. Patient recovered appropriately requiring no further medical attention and remained in the care of family.

Aug. 26

Fire: 2:49 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters were called to a reported shed on fire at an industrial facility. Firefighters arrived to find a motorcycle on fire under an open shed roof storage area. Firefighters were able to get a quick knock down on the fire, confining it to the area of origin.

Aug. 27

Motor vehicle accident: 2:25 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a two-car accident. Firefighters treated a middle-aged woman for neck pain and transported her to MAMC.
