VRFA firefighters rescue two occupants of vehicle that landed in Green River

Valley Regional Fire Authority crews rescued two people whose car had gone off the road and into the Green River early Sunday morning.

Responding to 911 calls from witnesses, firefighters found that the car had gone off the road on 104th Avenue Southeast in Auburn and was partially in the river. One of the occupants was able to get out of the vehicle under his own power, but the other person was trapped inside the car.

As firefighters attached ropes to secure the vehicle from further slipping into the river, they used extrication tools to remove the other occupant.

Both patients were treated on scene. The VRFA took one person to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center; King County Medic One transported the other to Harborview.

At this time authorities do not know further details of the accident. Auburn Police are investigating.
