Wrong way driver collides with motorcycle on Auburn freeway ramp

According to the state patrol, the sedan crossed the center line and struck the woman’s motorcycle.

A hit-and-run incident on June 24 in Auburn left a 43-year-old Auburn woman injured after a vehicle driving the wrong way collided with her motorcycle.

The Washington State Patrol received a report of a serious motorcycle collision at approximately 4:34 p.m. on eastbound State Route 18 to C Street in Auburn, according to the agency.

Upon arriving at the scene, troopers saw a woman with a “severe” leg injury on the ground, according to state patrol. A trooper applied a tourniquet her injury, with first responders arriving on scene and continuing emergency medical aid.

A helicopter airlifted the subject to Harborview Medical Center.

According to the state patrol, investigation of the incident determined the motorcyclist encountered the offending vehicle driving the wrong way, up the ramp, on the exit to C Street. According to the state patrol, the sedan crossed the center line and struck the side of the woman’s motorcycle, prior to fleeing the scene, with the woman’s motorcycle arriving at a stop on the right shoulder.

The Washington State Patrol have requested the public’s assistance for further information regarding the incident.
