Alice Marie Norton

Alice Marie Norton of Auburn died Sept. 12, 2008 at her home in Auburn. She was 86. Alice was born June 12, 1922 in Grandview, WA to Marie and Martin Rolie. She graduated from Grandview High School in 1940. Her friends and family fondly remember Alice’s good sense of humor and agree with a high school classmate’s prediction written in her yearbook, “May your present winning charm remain with you always.”Alice moved to Seattle to attend business college and met Norris Jule Norton. The two were married Jan. 29, 1943 and had two children. The family moved to Auburn in 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985.Alice loved golf, bowling, cards and fishing and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her son Tom Norton and his wife Debbie, of Issaquah; daughter Donna Oberg and her husband Steve, of Renton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Commemorative Giving/Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 50020, Seattle, WA 98145-5020.
