CYNTHIA GWEN GOODRICH

Cynthia Gwen Goodrich or “Cookie“as many who knew her was born May 1, 1952 in Carson City, Nevada to James and Regina Kurtz. She peacefully passed away on February 27, 2018 into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and met her father James Kurtz at the gates of Heaven.

Cookie grew up in both Carson City, Nevada and Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from dental assistant college at the age of 21, Cookie moved to Renton Washington.

On October 5, 1974, Cookie married the love of her life Bruce Goodrich at the First Presbyterian Church of Kent in Kent, WA.

After marriage, Cookie with her husband’s support, decided to no longer work outside the house in order to raise their children, Rebecca and Noah with one parent at home at all times. Bruce will tell you Cookie definitely had the greatest challenge with parenting and it was one she was definitely cut out for. Cookie‘s greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her faith, she would tell you, was shaken at times but never broken. She loved reading her Bible and sharing its message with others.

Throughout her lifetime, she could be found sharing her faith and serving her Lord Jesus Christ. Cookie and Bruce enjoyed their church family and church planting projects in both San Diego, California and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cookie is survived by her husband of 41 years Bruce Goodrich, their two children: Rebecca (Chris) and Noah (Tracy) as well as their two grandchildren, Logan and Kayla Goodrich. She is also survived by her mother Regina Kurtz and three brothers Jim Kurtz, Richard Kurtz and Mike Kurtz. Her family was very important to her and came only second to her faith.

Cookie was interned at the Tahoma National Cemetery on March 28, 2018. It was her wish to be buried next to Bruce when his time came.

A celebration of life will be held on May 23, 2018 at 1 PM at Grace Community Church at 1320 Auburn Way S., Auburn, WA 98002. A catered lunch will be provided at the church. All are welcome to come and share and celebrate Cookie‘s life. Please RSVP at 253–939- 8617.
