Delia M. Nehl

1943-2008

Rarely in our lives do we find a person who truly lives their faith every day, and who has a seemingly endless supply of strength and kindness which they freely share, and when that person is taken from us in a tragic moment, it is beyond our ability to find any answer to the question “Why?”. All we can do is have comfort in knowing that she is in a place where she will forever be rewarded for all that she gave us. Delia M. (Storer) Nehl, beloved wife and mother, was called home to our Lord Jesus on Friday, October 17, 2008 in Kettle Falls, WA. She was born in Colville on October 6, 1943. Delia enjoyed a full and active life. One of her most treasured experiences was visiting the Holy Land and hearing mass with Pope John Paul II. She was active in many charitable organizations in the Colville area, as well as in Auburn, WA. It was in Auburn where she met her husband Gus. He was her “knight in shining armor,” and she was his “princess, with a tennis racket in one hand and a cookbook in the other.” Delia’s kindness and generosity had no boundaries. She was an inspiration and a comfort to many, yet she remained humble and genuine. She, and the countless acts of kindness she provided will be greatly missed. Delia was preceded in death by her beloved family members – parents Verah and Leonard, brother Eddie and sister Vickie. She is survived by her loving husband Gus, their children Kathy, Kim and Bill who adored her, her dear sister and brother Pat and Jim, as well as her sisters Janice, Carolyn, and Emma.“It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home”In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St Vincent De Paul charity. A rosary service will be Sunday November 2, 2008 at 3 p.m. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A memorial service will be Monday November 3, 2008 and 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 320 N. Maple, Colville, WA 99114.
