Donald Lee Kurle | Obituary

Donald Lee Kurle, long time resident of Auburn was born in Tacoma, WA January 4, 1944. He was an honor graduate of Auburn High School in 1962. He graduated from the Univer- sity of Washington with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1968 and got an MBA from the University of New Mexico in 1971. He served on active duty with the US Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force Reserve in 1994. He served as an Auburn City Council Member from 1981 to 1995 and was Auburn’s Mayor Pro Tem when he was called upon. He was employed as a Senior Aerospace Engineer by the Federal Aviation Administration until he retired in January of 2007. He was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Auburn, the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His wife, Mary Ann, children David Kurle, Carolyn Kurle, and Steven Kurle; grandchildren Isabel, Marshall, Jeremiah, Dayton,Hubbell, and Jackie; survive him. Memorials may be made to the Scouts of America or Hospice Northwest.
