Dorothy Gilbert was born on October 11, 1920 in Ballard, Washington, Maud Dorothy Gilbert passed away on May 23, 2010 in Federal Way, Washington at the age of 89. She was a 52 year resident of Auburn, Washington. Dorothy worked as a shop clerk for Boeing Aerospace and was a proud member of the Aerospace Union, for which she was awarded a pin for 50 years of Union membership. During World War II, Dorothy worked as a journeyman welder on the USS Yellowstone. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening and crafts, she treasured her fond memories of Hurricane Ridge and hiking with Barney.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Warren E. Gilbert of Seattle. She is survived by three daughters; Franzie Hayes of Federal Way, WA, Patricia Hale of Anthem, AZ and Dorothy R. Jacobson of Enumclaw, WA, three sons; Archie J. Gilbert of Federal Way, WA, Charles A. Gilbert of Poland, OH and Warren “Rick” W. Gilbert of Auburn, WA, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dorothy was caring, generous and loyal to her family whom will all miss her dearly. A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Price-Helton Funeral Home located at 702 Auburn Way N, Auburn, Washington.
