Hannalore Graf Hoffman | Obituary

Hannalore Graf Hoffman was born on February 22, 1949 in Stuttgart, Germany. She emigrated to the United States with her parents, Helmut and Ella Graf, in November 1951. Hannalore passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 30, 2021 after a 20+ year battle with Addison’s and multiple other autoimmune diseases.

She was a compassionate special education teacher in the Auburn School District, mentor, friend, sister, aunt and mother. She loved gardening, traveling, cooking, reading and being on-the-go. Due to her interest in the world around her, she hosted numerous foreign students over the years and stayed in touch with them. As her physical limitations increased, her many friends continued to call and take her on outings and to lunch. She treasured every phone call and every outing. She is survived by her son Rudy Hoffman in Florida, sister Sandy Graf in Seattle (daughters Deborah Schwartzkopf and Johanna Graf-Gutierrez) and sister Helga Grunerud and husband Blaine Grunerud in Denver (daughter Kristen Grunerud).

A celebration of life service will be held for Hannalore on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 2:00 p.m. Veterans Memorial Park, William C Warren Community Building, 411 E St NE, Auburn, WA 98002.

Please consider wearing one of Hannalore’s favorite colors: blue, pink or purple as we celebrate her life.

Memorial donations can be made to the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation: www.nadf.us or to the charity of your choice.
