Leonard John Christianson

Leonard John Christianson, a resident of Ione, WA passed away on October 12, 2015 in Colville, WA at the age of 88. He was born on March 12, 1927 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada to Bernhart and Esther Kristiansen.

Leonard grew up and was educated in Mulvihill Manitoba, Canada . At age 16 he took an apprenticeship with the Canadian National Rail Road where he work for ten years. Leonard served in Royal Canadian Armed Service during WWII. In 1948 he met the love of his life, Joan Ingram and the two were wed in September 1948 in Winnipeg Manitoba. In 1956 the couple with their 3 children, Grant, Lynn and Danna-Ben moved to Auburn, WA where their daughter Beth was born. In Auburn Leonard worked for Union Pacific Rail Road until he decided to start trucking. For over forty years Leonard worked as an owner/operator hauling long distance for Mayflower Moving Co. He had a great love for his family and always had a smile to give. He was very proud to become a naturalized citizen of the United States in 2000. He loved driving Semi Trucks, enjoyed gardening, dancing, music, animals and bird watching.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, and granddaughters, Vonnie and Jessie.

He is survived by his wife, Joan of 67, years, his four children, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
