Margaret “Lucille” Johnson

August 27, 1918 – May 5, 2010

Lucille was born August 27, 1918 in a sod house at the base of Chimney Rock, Bayard, Nebraska. She was the first born of four to Fred and Grace Durnal also being the grandddaughter of R.F. Durnal who homesteaded the land surrounding Chimney Rock and Bayard, Nebraska, located on the Oregon Trail. Lucille grew up in Bayard and attended school in a one room schoolhouse until graduating high school, moved to Idaho, married and had three daughters; Jerrene, Janet and Loretta. In 1950, moved to Auburn, Washington, living there until present. She was the bookkeeper for Dr. Jose Lim for 20 years. She was a member of Life Christian Church for many years, a member of the Auburn Hospital Auxillary, and BPW. Enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Hawaii, England, Ireland and many trips around the US. Pre-deceased by husband Clayton Johnson; sons-in-law, Larry Argo and John Cramer; brothers, Tom Durnal and Wayne Durnal of Bayard; great-grandsons, Chase Dehline and Nicholas Ancona. Survivors include daughters Jerrene Beach (Ted) Auburn, Janet Cramer, Tacoma, Loretta Hagen (Phil) Enumclaw; sister, Helen Lyon Buhl, ID; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
