Roxie was born March 14, 1945, to Reuben and Arline Rietbrock Rohde in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and suddenly passed away from cancer on December 7, 2021 in Auburn.
Roxie graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1963 and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she met Bob Mittelstadt. Roxie and Bob were married on June 18, 1966, at Ebenezer UCC in Sheboygan. Roxie worked in Sheboygan at Vollrath Company. She graduated from Lakeland College in 1971. A few years later, the Mittelstadts moved to the Auburn area when Bob became a Boeing Engineer. Roxie loved reading and earned a library degree at the University of Washington. Roxie cleverly used her library, technology, and organizational skills in her long career at Boeing. She also used her fine computer skills to keep in close touch with family and friends. In her retirement, Roxie did beautiful quilting and volunteered to help teach second graders to read. She and Bob enjoyed traveling and spending winters at Shadow Hills RV park in Indio, Ca. Roxie was a sweetheart; always kind, genuine, caring, and fun! Roxie was an incredible friend! She was an active member of the Sew and Sew Quilting Group, Auburn First United Methodist Church, Chapter FS PEO, Methodist Quilters, the Worship Committee and the Wesley Quilting Group.
Roxie and Bob moved to Lea Hill Wesley homes just last year. There, she had several special friends who loved her phone research, kindness, humor, and enthusiasm for life.
Roxie is survived by her husband Bob, her sister, Rachel (Dave) Zeinemann Sheboygan; brother Ronald (Karen) Rohde Roaming Shores, OH; brother-in-law Greg (Linda) Mittelstadt Plymouth; sister- in-law Sandy Mittelstadt Sheboygan Falls, nieces and nephews, extended family and treasured friends. Roxie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob’s parents, Norbert & Mary Mittelstadt, brother-in-law William (Bill) Mittelstadt, and nephew, Jason Zeinemann.
Roxie’s family wants to thank several of Roxie’s friends for their kindness and support during the challenges of recent years and her passing. Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service will not be held, but a loving memorial pamphlet will be published, sent, and made available through email.
