Zachary Dale Maynard | Obituary

Zachary “Big Zach” Dale Maynard, 27, of Auburn, Washington, passed away on June 15, 2022, 10 days before his 28th birthday. Zachary Dale Maynard was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dale and Joan Reichert, paternal grandmother Patti Maynard, and maternal aunt Sheree Stevenson. Zachary leaves behind his sons Zachary Deyton Maynard and Jayce Lawrence Maynard; his mother, Leslie Courneya, and stepfather, Mike Courneya; his father, Chris Maynard; sister, Shelby Maynard; and paternal grandfather, Roger Maynard; as well as stepsiblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Zachary Dale was born in Renton, Washington on June 25, 1994. He grew up in Auburn, Washington, and graduated from Auburn High School in 2012.

Zachary’s youngest son, Jayce, was and is obsessed with his dad; he has been known to tell many, “I love my dad the mostest!”

Anyone who knew Big Zach knew his love of basketball, which he passed on to Little Zach, and a bond they shared since they both could walk. While Zachary had his struggles, we want him to be remembered for the father that he was to Little Zach and Jayce.

Please lift Zachary’s sons and family up in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate an unimaginable time.

A service celebrating the life of Zachary Dale Maynard will be held at the Muckleshoot Indian Shaker Church (16407 SE 392nd St, Auburn, WA 98092) on July 9 at 1 pm. Anyone who wishes to show support to the family and celebrate a life that we lost too soon is welcome to attend. Zachary’s mom, Leslie, has requested that we all wear something Michael Jordan-related to commemorate Big Zach’s lifelong love of basketball and MJ.

Rest In Peace, Zachary Dale. Fly high and watch over your boys.
