Junior Gavin Robertson’s performance on both sides of the ball Friday helped lead Auburn Mountainview to a 31-18 nonleague win over 2A Steilacoom (0-2).
Robertson hauled in four catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound strong safety notched 11 tackles in the Lions’ second win of the season.
Junior quarterback Gresch Jensen finished with 12-of-24 passing for 222 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also had nine carries for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Junior Vaughn Daggs had four receptions for 68 yards and a TD and junior Ryan Lacey added three catches for 18 yards.
On the ground, senior Nate Hardin ran the ball three times for 42 yards and sophomore Bitner Wilson had seven carries for 12 yards and a touchdown. Wilson also impacted the game on defensive with two sacks.
Senior linebacker Jason Sele had nine tackles. Aeron Watson and Hardin notched six tackles each.
The Lions open up South Puget Sound League 3A play at 7 p.m. next Friday against Bonney Lake (1-1) at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
