Auburn Reporter honors the Ravens’ Britten, Ingram

Auburn Riverside High School’s Ben Britten, water polo, is the Auburn Reporter’s Male Athlete of the Week.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Lunch.

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: Spending time with friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Mike Van Eaton.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I listen to “Till I Collapse.”

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Venom.”

“Ben Britten is a highly motivated athlete who is dedicated to improving his game daily. He plays in the most difficult offensive position, where he absorbs the harsh defense of the opposing team. Ben is one of the high scorers on the team. He helps create and develop plays to help the team score points. His leadership, coupled with great effort, helps motivate his team to continue to improve.”

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Math and DECA.

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I enjoy cooking, dancing and listening to music.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My coach, Chris Leverenz, has helped me succeed the most because beyond volleyball technique, she has taught me so much about being a leader and a stronger person, and that has helped me develop to become a better player.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I don’t have a personal pregame ritual, but my whole team always listens to music and has a mini dance party before every home game.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Better” by Khalid
