Sophomore McKenzie Emmons scored a second-half goal and Bella Reckling was stellar in goal as Auburn Riverside defeated Union of Camas 1-0 at Olympia’s Ingersoll Stadium on Saturday to clinch the West Central/Southwest District’s top seed for this week’s 4A state girls soccer playoffs

The Ravens (17-1-1) – the North Puget Sound League champions – advance to play Enumclaw (10-4-3) in a state opener. Kickoff is 6 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn Memorial Stadium. Against Union, Reckling, a senior, made eight saves in posting her 11th shutout of the season.

On Thursday, the Ravens erupted with four second-half goals to put away Rogers of Puyallup 5-1 in a district playoff at Kent’s French Field to clinch a spot to state.

Kayla Rydberg, Samiah Shell, Stephanie Igwala and Emma Lane scored for Auburn Riverside.

Reckling made seven saves and allowed one goal in going the distance in goal for the Ravens.
