Raven seniors Kevin Thomson and Drew Wallen will continue to play football at the next level, with both players signing Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Thomson, a 6-foot, 3-inch 185-pound quarterback will head to Division I University of Nevada, Las Vegas next fall.

Thomson, a three-year starter for the Ravens helped key a resurgence in Auburn Riverside (7-3 overall) football with his play this season.

He finished the year with 106 completions in 214 attempts for 1,656 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Thomson also rushed for 553 yards and nine touchdowns on 84 carries.

“Kevin played in a high school program that is not a traditional power but led them to a playoff appearance as a senior,” Running Rebels coach Bobby Hauck said. “He’s an athletic quarterback who has all the throws. He’s a very intelligent, well rounded player with a great feel for the game.”

The UNLV football team finished the season 7-6 overall, and played in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, their first bowl appearance since 2000.

Wallen, a 6-3, 185-pound senior wide receiver and defensive back, will attend and play football at Central Washington University.

Although Wallen was Thomson’s favorite target on offense this season – catching 51 passes for 855 yards and seven touchdowns – Central Washington plans on utilize his skills as a defensive back.

On defensive, Wallen had 26 tackles, including 2.5 for a loss.

He was selected the South Puget Sound League North 4A Defensive Back of the Year and chosen to the All-League first teams as a receiver and defensive back.
