Auburn student to compete in United World Games basketball competition

The competition will be held next summer in Austria

Auburn High School student and basketball athlete Beka Deressa has been selected to represent the United States at the United World Games, an Olympics-style youth sports event in Austria next summer.

Student-athletes are selected for the team by StudentathleteWorld based on a variety of factors including their athletic and academic performance, as well as their character and leadership ability.

Deressa is a freshman at Auburn High School and has been playing basketball since he was 6 years old, and recently competed in the Phenom America Showcase Camp in San Diego.

An online fundraiser was created to help Deressa pay for the costs associated with competing in the United World Games next summer. You can find the fundraiser on the Go Get Funding website by typing in “Beka Deressa” in the search bar.
