Trojans outlast Lions 9-8 on Howat’s walkoff single

Enumclaw rallies past Auburn Riverside

Connor Howat’s walkoff RBI single lifted Auburn past visiting Auburn Mountainview 9-8 in a North Puget Sound League Olympic Division game Monday night.

The Trojans (4-6 league, 4-11 overall) snapped a four-game losing streak. The Lions, who beat the Trojans 9-1 last Wednesday, dropped to 7-3 and 8-8.

Howat singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Evan Jilbert, who had doubled earlier in the inning.

Jilbert also tripled for the Trojans. Carter Casad went 3-for-4 and doubled, and Michael Johnson drove in three runs for Auburn.

Auburn Mountainview scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 8-8. Nick Dublinski capped the rally with a two-run single.

Willis Cresswell went 3-for-4, including a double, drove in two runs and scored three runs for the Lions. Grant Harris had two RBI.

Colton Anardi earned the win in relief for Auburn. Jilbert, the starter, went 3⅓ innings, yielding four runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking three.

Kamana Nahaku took the loss in relief of starter Conner Kilcup. Nahaku went 3⅓ innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out three.

Elsewhere

Enumclaw 5, at Auburn Riverside 4: The Hornets (6-2, 9-4) scored two runs in the top of the seventh to down the Ravens (4-6, 7-9) in NPSL Olympic play.

Enumclaw won the first game of the series 6-4 at home last Wednesday,

Brett Harvey had an RBI for the Ravens. Sam Spicciati took the loss in relief of starter Ty Emmons.
