Weeldreyer hits, tosses Lions to district baseball playoff win

Nate Weeldreyer launched a two-run home run and pitched a complete-game two-hitter, leading Auburn Mountainview to a 4-1 victory over visiting Rogers of Puyllaup in a district loser-out baseball playoff Saturday.

The Lions improved to 9-13.

Weeldreyer’s homer brought home Hayden Byorick, who singled, in the sixth inning. Nick Dublinski added a run-scoring double.

Willis Cresswell had an RBI single in the fourth.

Weeldreyer struck out two and walked three in a 95-pitch performance.

Kyler Barton homered in the seventh for the Rams (7-14).
