I was surprised to read that a fellow reader was dismayed at the police and fire blotter reporting in last week’s opinion section. Sometimes, honestly, it’s the only reason I open the paper, ha!

It’s sad that some people have no sense of humor and get so “incredibly offended,” enough to write to the editor. That, in itself, is hilarious.

It’s not that the actual acts committed are funny, and I don’t think the Reporter is making light of anything. It’s not “callous and insensitive,” it’s well delivered, clever and brings a smile to my face with the plays on words, sarcasm and overall style of writing.

Somewhat genius, I say.
