VRFA fire and rescue blotter | June 29

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 281 calls for service between June 18 and 24, among them the following:

June 18

Aid call: 5:48 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a teenage boy who had injured his neck during a high school football game. The patient was evaluated, and a VRFA Aid Car transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

June 19

Aid call: 8:53 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to an elderly man who fell and could not get up. Firefighters examined the patient and was found uninjured. The patient was able to remain home with family.

June 20

Aid call: 12:38 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a walk-in aid call at Station 38 for a man with chest pain and cardiac history. After King County Medics evaluated the man, they transported him to MAMC.

June 21

Aid call: 2:34 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman who had dislocated her hip. The patient was evaluated and transported to MAMC by private ambulance.

June 22

Brush fire: 4:25 p.m. (Algona). Firefighters responded to the 500 block of Frontage Road North for a brush fire. Firefighters arrived to find a quarter-acre grass fire with wind pushing the fire north into heavy brush. Firefighters extinguished the fire, utilizing water and foam. In total, approximately half an acre burned with no damage to property.

June 23

Oven fire: 2:01 p.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a fire in an oven. Firefighters arrived and found the fire had been extinguished by the occupants. VRFA crews utilized thermal imaging to confirm the fire had not extended into the walls.

June 24

Aid call: 12:04 p.m. (south Auburn). Firefighters responded to a man with a head injury. Firefighters treated the patient, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.
