Richard Allen (Dick) Perry

9/22/35 – 7/19/16

Richard (Dick) Perry passed away on July, 19, 2016 in Auburn, WA. Dick was born in Los Angeles and moved to Auburn in 1946.

He graduated from Auburn High School in 1953 and entered the US Army in 1955. After completing his military stint, he attended WWU and then UW and graduated with a degree in English. He became an English and Journalism teacher at his alma mater, Auburn High from 1960-66. Looking for another challenge, he left teaching to become a State Farm Insurance agent, serving Auburn and the surrounding communities until his retirement in 2000.

Dick loved golf, becoming an original member of Meridian Valley Country Club, Husky football, holding season tickets for over 3 decades, talking with friends at the Auburn Elks, and traveling and spending time with the love of his life, his wife of 57 years Sheila.

He will be missed by his wife, Sheila; brother Sal (Jan); daughter Valerie; son Chad (Kim); grandsons Brandon and Tanner and many, many friends and relatives.

We will be having a celebration of Dick’s incredible life on Friday August 26th. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to a favorite charity. Some of his favorites were the White River Valley Museum, Green River College Foundation and the University of Washington Foundation.
