Robert “Bob” Staples passed away peacefully at his home on May 24, 2018, at the age of 82.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Carmen Vermillion (Scott) and Curt Staples; grandchildren, Nichole Vermillion, Heidi Schultz, Marylin Brown, Janae Bosshart, Kaley Webb, and Derik Sterling; great grandchildren, Logan Walker and Grace and Gavin Schultz; and brothers, Dick Staples and Bill Staples. He was predeceased by his grandsons, Billy Webb and Jon Sterling, daughter, Carol Sterling; parents, John Henry and Bessie Staples; and sister, Lula Mae Gerber.

Bob was a kind, gentle man of high integrity; he will be greatly missed. Service will be held at Edline & Yahn Funeral Chapel in Covington at 2:00 on June 2, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
